Emerging artist Polly Bagnall studied MA at City and Guilds of London Art School and is represented by arTbridge, ROLLO Contemporary Art and Saatchi Online “I use my body performatively to make painted marks on paper or canvas. The use of appendages simultaneously restricts my movement as well as generating a curious visual language bringing a raw and dynamic energy to the paintings. The experimental side of my work is in the tradition of 1970’s artists such as Carolee Schneeman or Rebecca Horn. I often collaborate with dancers and musicians. My work focuses on the body as a medium for accessing and communicating psychological states.” Jurassic Journey is a series of three paintings using a gestural response from the physical experience of being on the Jurassic coastline in Dorset.
